How To Disappear Article 4

How to Vanish

Article 4: Where to Go Internationally if You Want to Disappear

Let’s face it. Some places in the world are better to hide than others. Most local police forces in these countries are not going to be looking for you as a missing person unless you are high profile. Another fact to remember is that you will needs funds to get started if you are going to go to another country. The US beurocracy isn’t fast, but many countries move at a much slower pace. You can establish a new identity and get work, but it will take a while. Under the table work can also be hard to and in some other countries.

Here is another thing to remember. Try not to get involved with expatriates from your country. Expatriates often keep up with news and people from their country. That means that that might hear about you as a missing person, or be able to see flaws in your story. They might become suspicious and report you. As tempting as it might be to find people from your home nation and become friends when you are lonely, I suggest staying away.

First on the list Dublin Ireland – Ireland has a friendly pub culture that is hospitable and quick to make you feel at home. Just remember to have your story straight and stick to your story. Irelands economy is currently fairing better than most during the European recession. Ireland still has an influx of immigrants looking for work and you can be one of them. One warning about Ireland is the taxes. Ireland is not a great place to hide your money.

Italy – Can you think of a better place to start your new life. You can easily vanish in Italy. Italy is full of expatriates from all over the world, so you won’t stand out no matter where you are from. If you’re going to go legit, the taxes in Italy are not as oppressive as some other places in Europe, and the cost of living is inexpensive. Looking for work on the other hand would not be so easy. One job you could get in one of the larger cities would be to teach native English.

Cape Town South Africa – Cape Town moves at a slower pace than South Africa’ capitol city Johhannesburg. The cost of living is inexpensive as long as you’re not buying ocean front property. Crime has been and will continue to be a problem in Cape Town where there is a large descrepency between the haves and have nots. It’s a great international city where it is better not to stick out of the crowd.

Central America – I’m excluding Mexico from this part of the discusscion as Mexico is currently facing a lot of problems. Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and Belize are all great places to relocate to. Did you know that most of the inhabitants of Belize speak English. All of these place have a relatively low tax rate and a low cost of living.

All in all, these are all places you could go if you want to get under the radar. As I’ve mentioned before, it is always better to get off the grid legally as opposed to illegally.
